Hi everyone, Kama here.
I'd like to start first and foremost by congratulating you. You made it through quite possibly the most hectic, unpredictable, upside-down year you've ever lived through. You survived a global pandemic, some big life-changes, a social re-vamp, a tense election year and possibly some losses near or far.
You did it. You're still here. Stop right now and give yourself the biggest hug, pat on the back, words of affirmation, moment of silence, dance party, or soft smile. You deserve it. You're incredible.
It is my sincere belief that everything happens for a reason, everything carries a lesson and there is something to gain from every challenge. Please take a moment to reflect on what you've learned this year. I encourage you to write ten solid positive lessons that came out of 2020.
Done?
Now what could you have done better? Write five things/practices/personal qualities down that would've helped you this past year.
Done?
Now how are you going to put those into play in 2021? Write down your action plan for each one.
I don't mean to be a Debbie-downer, but I need to make a really important statement: 2021 is not promised to be easier. It may be no better than 2020. Just because Earth is about to complete another orbit cycle around the Sun doesn't mean everything changes right here, right now...
But you know what can?
You.
Your mindset.
You are in control of how you choose to look at the world, the actions you take and the compassion you give. You are in control of your self-care. You are in control of laughing at the hardships or flipping the f*ck out. You are in control of boosting your immunity and following protocols to keep yourselves and others safe. You are in control of your vote, your effort, your education and your beliefs.
You are in control of you and you only. How are you going to step up for yourself this year?
I believe in you.
Happy New Year, beautiful human.
I love you.
